Chambers – Now More Than Ever
By Marianne Martelli, IOM, Vice President, Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry
IN AN AGE WHERE WE CAN NETWORK at any hour of the day or night, and computers and the Internet make getting referrals as easy as a key strike, the question is: Why join the Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry or any Chamber, for that matter? This question is especially significant in the current economic climate.
The Chester County Chamber has changed and adjusted with the current business climate and technological advancements. Just as all businesses have reexamined the “what, why and how” of their operations, so has the Chamber.
The basic premise of our work has not changed, however. Thomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce said, “The Chamber doesn’t make products, the Chamber makes things happen…” Likewise, CCCBI makes things happen in Washington, Harrisburg and right here in Chester County. Our main goal continues to be to create and maintain a business-friendly climate in the region.
CCCBI also aspires to be the Voice of Business in the region. We unite all of your voices into one very powerful voice that is heard, considered and remembered.
CCCBI is big enough to have a powerful voice, yet small enough to provide personal customer service. We provide a variety of ways to network with your peers and potential clients and customers. We provide the settings and opportunities that match your needs and decisions for business growth.
By investing in a Chamber, small and large companies have equal opportunity to affect the quality of life in the region. If we all work together to keep a competitive business environment, large businesses will want to establish a presence here and small businesses will have lots of people living and working in the area to support them. Everyone benefits.
