Wellington Lifestyle
By Emily Hart
Jasper the tabby cat blinks in sunlight that streams through elegant French doors. From his favorite spot on a cushion, he watches spring birds on the terrace beyond the doors and checks out activities at the park… when he isn’t napping. His lifestyle at Wellington suits him perfectly.
Jasper’s pet human, Cathy Zielinski, fully concurs. Their home at Wellington Condominiums in Eagleview matches every aspect of her desired lifestyle. The gorgeous floor plan suits her aesthetic tastes, as well as her routines for home life, work and entertaining. Because the Hankin Group impeccably maintains the building and surrounding grounds, she enjoys more time for leisure pursuits. Even her opportunities for fun and relaxation are close to home—just steps away to restaurants, shops and recreation at the Eagleview Town Center—so Cathy and her husband Bill can make the most of free moments.
This is the Zielinskis’ third Hankin property, according to Cathy. After living in an apartment at Eagleview’s Claremont, they purchased a townhome at Weatherstone. Over the course of a couple of years, over dinner or cocktails at the Brickside Grille at Wellington Square, they watched progress of a building under construction—the new Wellington. The couple decided to check it out and found that “the units were spectacular,” she says. Two years ago, one of the extraordinary condominiums became their new home.
Home, Sweet Home
Today, Zielinski’s enthusiasm for her home bubbles over into conversations. The condominium is situated on the first floor of the four-story Wellington surrounded by landscaped park and natural woods. Her front door opens into a welcoming foyer and a bright, open living and dining area that is beautifully suited to entertaining. Her eyes and conversation focus on Jasper’s cherished French doors where she, Bill and the cat watch winter snow fall against a backdrop of trees decorated with white twinkle lights, and that open onto their expansive private brick terrace where they sip cool drinks and listen to summertime Eagleview Square concerts. The spacious kitchen contains gorgeous appliances where she and her husband “experiment with cooking,” she says with a chuckle. The home also includes a personal library and a bedroom that Cathy transformed into her office. The master suite comprises a spacious bedroom, bathroom with Jacuzzi tub and sitting area where Cathy has plans to put a new comfortable chair for reading.
As a sales executive for Travelers Insurance, Cathy says that the safety and security at Wellington are features important to her. Controlled access to the building and indoor parking matter to her “snowbird” neighbors, too. Wellington’s quick and easy access to major thoroughfares to surrounding counties, her sales territory, also makes a difference to Cathy’s work.
The icing on the cake at Wellington is the community, Cathy indicates. Within moments, she and Bill can wander into the upscale yet casual Brickside Grille for dinner or Nudy’s Café where she treats herself to a specialty omelet on Sundays. The planned community can boast about an array of top-notch shops including the Wellington Square Bookshop, where Cathy browses rare books, scopes out unusual finds for gifts and purchases new releases to take home to her new reading chair.
The self-proclaimed “walk-a-holic” can also stroll to the Eagleville YMCA where Bill works as Director of Operations and she is a member. The safe and lovely winding footpaths—where she can walk five miles without retracing her steps—was a feature that attracted her to the neighborhood and one she continues to love.
Maybe someday we’ll retire to a land of “sunshine, sand and palm trees,” Cathy says. But for now, she enjoys the beauty of snow in the park (without having to remove it), planting flowers on the terrace in spring, walking the community trails in summer and basking in Wellington’s relaxing lifestyle with Jasper.
