Life: A Wonderful Romance & Adventure

Each new Year brings the feeling of opportunity—a time to reflect on the past and consider the future. we assess the last 12 months and ask what life has in store for us next.
I have learned that it’s not “life” that determines how my year goes. It’s me. I ask, “what can i do differently this year to create a wonderful life of romance and adventure?
It begins with listening to the inner voice—unique to each one of us that inspires us in our own special ways to dream, to hope, to believe. it’s the voice that says, “if i can imagine it, i can create it.”
it continues with the understanding that our greatest accomplishments require extraordinary efforts and perseverance. Efforts can be intense and difficult, but when we work toward goals with passion and belief in our mission, the rewards are great and immeasurable in value.
Last January, I ran a marathon. it started with an inspiration – a friend who was diagnosed with a form of Leukemia. My goal was to show support by raising funds in her honor through this event. Record-breaking frigid temperatures in Orlando, Florida, and a blister that developed on my foot a few miles into the 26.2 mile course dampened my spirits. Yet just when i struggled most, words of hope—from a multitude of friends—flooded my mind. The crowds cheer “you can do it” – the glimpse of my husband – among thousands watching- that was the fuel I needed to endure. At the end of the race, I was exhausted, but elated. Besides my pride of accomplishment that came with crossing the finish line – at the end of the day-my heart was full- a difference made in the lives of so many, hence, the dance of life; a wonderful romance and adventure.
so it is with publishing each new edition of The women’s Journal. with a passion for this venture and belief in its mission—to educate. to enrich. to empower.—I work long hours and expend much energy. Behind my strength is the support of a team of editors and designers, my husband Joe, and steadfast friends. There are talented contributors and women, such as the dedicated doctors who make a difference in the lives of many people in chester county and who are featured in “a work of heart” (page 30-31 ). reader kudos, such as the glowing notes from Phoebe Kitson and Terry Adelman on the previous page, show us that many people benefit from these collaborative efforts.
With great excitement, I share the announcement of a bold step into the new year. with the acquisition of the southern chester county territory for The Women’s Journal I’m proud to represent our community members in northern and southern regions of the county. it’s a dream “created,” and another piece of a wonderful life of romance and adventure.
