Reinvent your Business Now!
By Steve and Diane Muntean

As the Holiday season’s spirit and memories fall upon us, this also represents an ideal time to focus on our future goals and ambitions. Many of us can’t remember more challenging times then those present today, and the future appears quite different and permanently altered from what many are accustomed to. In fact, it is difficult to predict what the future holds, especially in areas of healthcare, finance, housing and taxation.

Given the tumultuous times of today, we need to seriously think about a how we can control of our lives, whether the storm and come out stronger on the other side, whatever it holds. It starts with a thorough look at ourselves, both professionally and personally  and the willingness to reinvent our future and gain control of our realities.
This article will focus on our business and provide you with ideas on reinventing your future business and its success. In the next issue we will focus on reinventing ourselves, from a personal standpoint.
What does “reinvention” mean for your business? This means evaluating all aspects of your business, such as your products, customers, employees, distribution, marketing and manufacturing in new and hopefully, more profitable ways.
If you want to accelerate your bottom line results, start with the concept called zero based thinking.  Zero based thinking can be applied to any part of your business by simply asking the question: “Knowing what I now know what would I do differently if I could do it over again?” And, since we can do it different in the future, now is the time to reinvent that future.
If your answer is “no” to any zero based thinking question, then it is time to reinvent your business and make significant change. In other words, it is time to do it differently by applying your answers to the zero based thinking questions. Let’s look at some of the questions you should be asking about your business:

Again, if the answer is no to any question, then it is time to make a shift and reinvent your business in that area. Now that we know what parts of our current business we must reinvent, the starting point is prioritizing your efforts.  Your answers to the questions may suggest that you need to reinvent everything about your business, but you must take a focused, disciplined approach. Therefore, always start with the most important aspect of your business, the employees you have hired and placed in important positions. As Jim Collins says in “Good To Great”, you must have the right people on the bus in the right positions. So, conduct a thorough analysis of your team and whether their skills and capabilities match up to specific accountabilities of the job. Our Job Benchmarking Process will help you insure the right people are in the right jobs.
“Our Job Benchmarking process enables businesses to assess the job and talent to find the best job fit,” notes Diane. “The Job Benchmarking process identifies the key skills, values and behaviors required for superior performance. We can then accurately compare current employees as well as new hires against the Job Benchmark to insure we have a match”.  “Obviously,” says Diane, “If a current employee does not match up with the job, then we need to redeploy that employee into a better matched position, which then provides the opportunity to replace them with a great match and great results”.
“Our process allows you to qualify and assess employees and candidates faster and more accurately, making it easy to provide decision-makers with employees and new hires that truly match up with the requirements of the job”, says Steve.
